Clinkerton City (Fine Line Illustration)
Originally drawn using Staedler Pigment liners onto Leuchtturm A4 Sketchbook paper.
Welcome to Clinkerton! Named for the ships they specialise in, this whole city is a giant dockyard built precariously where the land allows- ships of the air and sky are built at every level of the town. To protect them from the harsh seas and storms, ships are laid down in the sheltered core of the city, before being lowered into the waters below or hoisted into the skies above. A well of natural lifting gasses that seeps from deep within the rock are used to refuel passing airships, that stop off before they drift off on further journeys around the sea.
This is one of my very earliest drawings in a series I'm hoping to complete of a "travel diary" around these strange cities in a world full of similar towns. I hope to complete and work on more in the future. Clinkerton was the original inspiration for it all!
We offer A4 prints of this piece at the original size it was drawn at (210 × 297 millimeters). All my drawings are scanned into Photoshop and the linework/imperfections tidied and sharpened up. My intention is for these prints are better quality and clearer than the original drawing!
Note- These prints are not framed
